Without Furthur Ado…
I know, I know…you’ve all been sitting on the edge of your seats waiting for this - the premier of “Elijah’s 1st Piano Recital” video clip. I decided to only share his first piece with you. During his second piece, Zeke suddenly realized that he had to use the bathroom (of course!) and kept pulling on my sleeve, so the video is pretty “bumpy” - it might make you a little nauseous. And then during his third piece I decided to try and get some good still-photos instead of video.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. We took the liberty of slowing the last second down for you - we love the look on Elijah’s face, and didn’t want you to miss it!

Wow! That’s a great video! I love his little sneak peek out into the audience at you before he begins. Suitably impressed, I am!

Elijah watched it this morning and said, “Ouch, it hurts to listen to my mistakes.” He does make mistakes but I am so proud of him for getting through it. This was one of the first times that Elijah was nervous about doing anything. I love the look of releif and accomplishment at the end. And then he realizes that the 80+ people that he feared were now cheering him on. Way to go, Elijah!

Elijah, “You did really well and played all the way through to the end! I am really proud of you. I’m glad to see that you are playing the piano at your age. Grampie didn’t begin playing until I was almost finished high school. I often wish I had been able to take lessons when I was much younger. I’m sure you are very happy that Mummy and Daddy are making sure you are getting lessons now.”

Way to Go Elijah! I remember piano recitals as being pretty scary events at the beginning, and great by the end. I also love that peek at the beginning looking for a little boost of reassurance.

Thanks for the compliments guys. It makes me feel happy that you got to see my performance from far away places. I was a little sad that I didn’t have Grandparents, and Aunts and Uncles there like everyone else did - but this makes me feel better!
