Mmmm…there’s nothin’ like kabobs on the barbie in the summer time. And of course, food always tastes better when it’s shared with friends. Most Sunday nights we
get together with the other four families that make up the staff of Bethany Church for supper. Last night was our night to do the main course, so…kabobs it was! Oh boy, were they tasty! We served them in a warm pita topped with homemade tzatziki sauce. Yummy! The roasted tomatoes were especially good – Noah feasted on them.

What's The Going Rate For Teeth These Days?
When I was a kid it was a dime…
Check out Elijah’s brand new smile. He lost his first tooth tonight while biting into an apple, and apparently swallowed it, because it’s nowhere to be found. I assured him that even if he didn’t have a tooth to put under his pillow, the “Tooth Fairy” would still find him.
Glorified Make-Believe…
We renewed our membership to the Minnesota Childrens Museum yesterday. There are many different exihibits there, but yesterday we spent a lot of time in “Our World.” As you can see from the pictures, “Our World” is set up for the ultimate in pretending. Noah had an especially good time here – it being the first time he could really walk around.

Well, we’re off now to celebrate the 4th of July. The Berube’s have adopted us for such holidays as these. (The Berube’s are Dave’s brother’s in-laws) We normally spend the 4th of July, American Thanksgiving and Easter with them…always a good time. Word is that $400 worth of fireworks have been bought for the festivities tonight! Elijah and Zeke can’t wait. I’m interested to see what Noah will think of them…
Thank You Alexander Fleming!
Today I am feeling very thankful that Zeke’s feet are healed. “What’s wrong with Zeke’s feet?” you ask. Same question we had. About a month ago he started getting huge, gaping cracks around his toes, and this led to itching, blisters and painful raw skin in between his toes and on the ball and top of his foot. Eczema? That made sence, so we tried a steriod cream. This seemed to make it worse. Then we moved on to an athelets foot treatment, which relieved the itching a bit, but the blisters were still spreading.
Finally, a trip to our pediatrition gave us a diagnosis – a rare form of impetigo. (And I will forever wonder where he got it!) Thankfully, with some oral antibiotics it disapeared as quickly as it had come. Thank you Mr. Fleming! I shudder to think of what could have happened to Zeke’s feet and skin had we lived only a hundred or so years ago. Normally, I will try anything to avoid antibiotics (and I guess I did in this case too), but today I’m very thankful for their invention!
