Back In Blogland

14 Aug

Well, I guess it’s time to get back to blogging, although I must say I don’t feel in the right frame of mind to do so. Vacation was wonderful…way too short, and yet it seems like we’ve been gone forever! To quote my favorite female heroine, I feel “well in body, but considerably rumpled in spirit.” (Can you guess who said that?) Returning to the Twin Cities has been a jumble of thoughts and feelings – I’m still working through them!

Anyway, here are some photos we liked…  (We’re actually still trying to retrive the photos from the first half of vacation, but sadly, they may be gone.)

We dug a huge hole at the beach on PEI. The two girls are Navinah and Tirzah Riley – they came up from the south of Maine with their parents to visit us on the Island.

In our cottage on the Island…my family came over for a couple nights.

My mother bought Elijah an amazing easy-to-fly kite. He flew it for almost two hours one day.

Eating seafood at Paturels in Grand Barachois with Dave’s family.

My brothers and Noah. Thane is holding Noah up by his two feet!

This happened when we got home – Noah found our stash of Canadian chocolate (In the middle of unpacking…you know how everything ends up on the floor?) and knawed into this one!

It was through tears that I looked at these amazing pics. Marianne and I sure loved seeing all of you! Thanks for the reminders of your visit. Blessings on you all as you get “resettled” into life at home.

It looks like you had a stellar vacation. I can’t think of a better way to spend the summer than with family, friends, ice cream and a big hole in the beach! Oh, and it’s the one and only indominatable Anne Shirley who reported feeling “well in body, but considerably rumpled in spirit.â€?

Hey, hey, I was going to guess Anne Shirley, too…but I didn’t check your blog early enough. Sad for me, but I’m glad that I knew the right answer. Now, I’m going to read the rest of your entry.

All Canadians should know that only Anne Shirley would say such a thing.;-) I’m surprised they don’t show the movies in school.

Awesome pics, guys! It makes me jealous that we couldn’t be there with you this summer! I’m totally cracking up at the Coffee Crisp bar… :)

Welcome back! Glad to hear that you had a great trip. I kept poking in to your site to see if you had any of your trip stuff up. We just got back from a 4-day vacation with Anthony’s family. Jeremiah had a great time with his cousins and grandparents. Of course, we had a good time too.

I’ve never heard of Anne Shirley. Guess she is a Canadian heroine?

Shirley is Anne of Green Gables’ last name. You must have heard of Anne of Green Gables?! I’ll forgive you for not reading the books, but surely (no pun intended) you’ve seen the movies!

“It’s all over but the talking of it, and that’s the best part”
    Think on these things Janet.
