Today is Dave’s 30th birthday! Happy Birthday Dave! I wanted to make Dave one of his favorite meals tonight for supper. Hodge-podge… sounds yummy doesn’t it? It’s just all the fall vegetables, like new potatoes, green beans, carrots and whatever else you can think of, cooked up, and then drenched in milk and butter. Mmmmm.
So, I planned an excursion for today. There is an awesome farmers market downtown, which I thought would be fun to travel to on the light-rail (it’s like a train, and usually Zeke is in heaven when he’s on it). So, after Elijah got on the bus for school today, the rest of us (me, Zeke, Noah, and my Mum) headed to the light-rail station. As soon as we got on the train, Zeke started complaining of a tummy-ache.
“Well, maybe you’ll feel better after you go to the bathroom.” I said.
“Ok.” said Zeke, but he continued to wimper, and at some points he was actually doubled over in pain!
As soon as we arrived downtown, I rushed to find a bathroom, and just as we entered it, poor little Zeke was sick all over the floor! Oh dear! So, we had to turn around and come back home, without the sought after vegetables.
Zeke is sleeping right now. Not sure if he has a virus, or if it’s something he ate (I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough, if we all catch it). I’m pretty bummed, but that’s the end of my sob story. Boo-hoo.
Feel free to leave Dave a birthday message (maybe it will compensate for the fact that there is no hodge-podge tonight for supper!)…

Oh dear…can my baby brother be 30??!! It’s not right…I am much too young. I tried to wish you a “happy birthday” by phone, but you were living it up, and so you should! Hope we can talk this weekend. I love you.

Happy Birthday Steven Page…oops, I mean Dave. I hope you had a great birthday, even with a sick l’il boy and no Hodge Podge.

Happy Birthday, Dave-O!
If you were here, I would play you the extended Mealey mix of birthday tunes (featuring such quality artists as DJ Bobo, Frank Sinatra, the Muppets, and Stevie Wonder). Since you’re not, maybe you’ll just have to find yourself a copy of the Arrogant Worms’ “The Happy Happy Birthday Song.” It’s especially à propos to a 30th, I think.

Thirty wow….that’s harsh! Chris Darrach turns thirty this weekend as well. Maybe you two could talk about all of your aches and pains together. Anyways, happy birthday from someone who is still loving being 25
Oh ya and by the way I love this page Janet, thanks for all of the great posts! I just take awhile to leave comments. I’m all about the secret stalking approach for a while (that can’t be good). Take care, hope Zeke is feeling better!
Love, Erin (oh and Jason too)

I had a wonder filled time last night. I saw a fun three piece from St. Paul called Moxie Bliss. A good friend of mine works with the drummer and bass player. It was a good night, but at 5:30 this morning when I woke up to play basketball I felt differently.

Happy Birthday Dave. Don’t worry about the remarks about being 30. Take it from someone in their 50′s. The 30′s are a wonderful, awesome time of life. A time where you are settled and ready to enjoy what you have worked for in your 20′s. A time to be at your best! Sorry to hear Zeke was sick, hope everyone else is still fine. It is a beautiful Maritime Thanksgiving weekend here. One of those days where the sky is blue and the harvest moon is full at night, casting shadows everywhere, just like God’s arms reaching out and covering the farm with His Amazing Grace.
Love to everyone.

Wow, 30! You’re still young! I thought about you yesterday cause the handy-dandy MySpace alerted me to the fact that it was your birthday. But it told me it was the 10th… and here it looks like it was the 5th. Oh well, glad you managed to still have fun even with no Hodge-Podge! and here’s to another 30 years!
