A Google-riffic day

docs_spreadsheets.gifWell, they have done it again. It was certainly coming. I had heard talk of it quite a while ago on CommandN, yet I did not know it would happen yesterday. I was on the phone with the guy who is leading worship for me on Sunday at Bethany. ::side note: Janet and I are going away for the weekend. We’re not sure where yet but later today travelocity will tell us where to go.:: So there we were, Ryan and I discussing the band and the music for Sunday and he asks me if I knew that Google had docs and spreadsheets that you could use and collaborate with. In shock, I said, “no”! I had been using Google Spreadsheets for months but Docs? I was longing for this day to come. It was now upon us and I fell to my knees in surrender. Google has won my geek heart once again. They continue to leave me no choice but to use their services. So this morning I created my first Google doc. Exciting stuff. I am now using their calendar, mail, spreadsheets, and docs. I now no longer need Microsoft Office…well PowerPoint and Access, I guess. However, I really hate using them!
Thank you, Google. Aren’t giant web start ups that now rule the word great? If any of you have a good idea that we can sell to Google in 19 months for $1.6 Billion, contact me.

Love,
Dave
