Dining By Candlelight

I love, LOVE, LOOOOVE (imagine music notes around that last “love”) this time of year. Isn’t it wonderful when the time goes back? It’s so cozy the way the darkness creeps up on you in the late afternoon, and then settles upon you at dinnertime! It’s perfect for candlelit dinners. And why not? Here is our table all set for dinner last night…a yummy, comforting, fall meal: Shake’n'Bake chicken drumsticks, mashed potatoes, carrots and rutabaga (called turnip in Canada). The rutabaga was sweet and delicious (the boys actually ate all of it without coaxing)!

Looks yummy Jan! I would have loved to have been around that table with you all. We made our Hodge Podge on Sunday and it was so good. Who knew something so simple could taste so good!

Hope your feeling better these days!

Someone will be turning seven soon! I’ve been working steady these past two weeks doing my training but am off the next couple of days and will give you a call! I need to know what the b-day boy would like! Mom told me he loves $$$! My fav gift too :O) I’d call you know but Isaac would NOT go to sleep this afternoon. In two days he has learned to hit his head on the floor ( the books say this is normal :OP) and scream, and spin around in circles changing direction half way – which seems to me it could be a milestone of some sort. He has also reinstated his desperate fear of the bathtub. He is one crazy kid. So I don’t want to get on the phone for fear he will wake up – becasue of course we are invited out to dinner tonight…hopefully he will be good. I always fear that everyone will think I have a “bad” baby :O(

    Big hugs to you all!
    Jill

Seven! Now that sounds old! For some reason turing the “seven” in anything seems older than the “six”. Remember turning 27? Didn’t that seem a lot older than 26?

Anyway, yeah, give me a call. Is Mum still there?

Janet, you are awesome. My first thought when I saw this was the many times we shared a meal at the farm with the Potter family, with winter all around us. thank you for the lovely memories and special threads of love that exist between the distance.
