The Tummy Sleeve

Where were all these innovative ideas during my first, second and third pregnancies?

tummy sleeve.jpg

The tummy sleeve is a tube of firm yet supple spandex that fits over a pregnant belly, and helps hold all those stubborn, ever-slipping maternity clothes up. My midwife recommended I get one for some extra support during this pregnancy, since my tummy muscles are basically non-existant (bummer). I love it! It’s perfect for the stage of pregnacy I’m in right now too – when maternity clothes are still too big, but I can’t button my normal pants. I can wear the tummy sleeve down over the unbuttoned button, and it holds my pants up! Very cool! And comfortable. I can’t help but wonder what the future of maternity clothes will be…what will they think of next?

I have a black one, and I’m hoping Santa will put a white one in my stocking this Christmas. (wink)

Final Tally…

The polls are officially closed, and the final tally is: Yay – 14, Nay – 13. Very close! A big “thank you” to all the voters. It was fun!

I must say, though, that I am reluctant to cut his beautiful, honey-colored tresses. (That reminds of the scene in the Anne of Green Gables movie where Anne asks Diana for “a lock of her glossy black tresses.” To which Diana replies, “But I don’t have any black dresses.” Ha! Funny! …You know, secretly, I’ve always wondered why the clever Anne Shirley ever bothered with that dim-witted Diana Berry. But that’s a whole other subject, maybe the topic of a future blog poll…just kidding!) So, although I still plan to cut Noah’s hair some, I won’t buzz it all off, like I’ve done in the past. My Mother arrives tomorrow (hooray!) and I’ll let her cut it into a cute little style!

And by the way, this is far from Noah’s first haircut. He was born with a very thick head of dark hair, that quickly grew down into his eyes. We buzzed it all off for the first time when he was just two months old! He’s since had three or four major haircuts. His hair grows like a weed, so don’t worry, even if I did shave it off, it would be back in a couple months!

Christmas Is A Time…

Elijah’s age group sang in church today. Here is the video.

Apple!

apple.jpgI started my Christmas shopping today after I dropped Zeke off at preschool, and I’m proud to say that I think I’m almost done!  Not bad.  Noah was a little angel today at the mall…except when we walked by the Apple store.  Noah, like his big brother Zeke, loves apples.  So imagine his excitement when he saw a store with an apple logo on it!  (And I was impressed that he knew that the black and white logo was an apple…quite abstract for a 20 month old brain!)  “Apple!  Aaaapllle!” he hollered.  Thinking back, maybe I should have gone in to show him that it really wasn’t a store full of apples!

A Blog Poll

000_0627 (Custom).jpgDave and I are currently having a debate about whether or not to cut Noah’s golden locks.  I say “Yay,” and he says “Nay.”  What do you say?  You can give your reason if you’d like, but a simple yay or nay would suffice.  And we’re really gonna do with his hair according to the poll (well, I mean for a while), so vote carefully!  You have until the weekend to vote, and then, chop, chop, chop!  (I hope!  He he.)

(Hey, all you “closet readers” – we know you’re out there – we want to hear from you too!)

B-U-S…Bus!

000_0620 (Custom).jpg

Literacy, here we come!  For the past few weeks, Zeke and I have been using Scrabble tiles to make three letter words and sound them out.  He’s had a good grasp on the phonetic sounds of all the letters for a while, but he’s found the skill of blending (well, we call it smushing) sounds together very challenging.  But today, a light went on and he’s been reading words…bus was the first!   Hooray, Zeke!
