Well, what a difference a good nights sleep makes! Everything feels back to normal here. I woke up feeling well-rested, refreshed and to the smell of lilacs! Dave took all three boys out for a bike-ride last night to give poor, sleepy Mummy a break (I had a bubble bath) and brought home bunches of lilacs. They smell amazing.
Elijah and Zeke both had exciting things happening at school today, and thanks to the wonder of digital cameras and the internet, you get to partake as well!
It was hat-day at Zeke’s preschool today, so I dug out an old vintage number from Dave’s days in Amsterdam for him to wear…

I put it on him, and of course – as all good mums would do – made sure it was straight, and “proper” looking, but Zeke turned it sideways, and said, “Mummy, this is how you look cool.” Alright-y then.
And Elijah was having his “mile-run” today, which necessitated an early unveiling of these sweet Chuck Taylors…

I found them incredibly cheap at a discount store quite a while ago, and was going to save them for next years “new school shoes,” but Elijah said his normal school shoes simply would not do. They’re still a little big, but he was sure they would make him run faster!

Pulling out “new school shoes” to help Elijah run faster is at least as “good mum” as putting Zeke’s hat on straight!
Janet, I’m not sure where I originally encountered that quote, but here’s what I found through Google:
“Making the decision to have a child – it’s momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” –Elizabeth Stone
Wish I knew who Elizabeth Stone is, though.
