The Two Foot Straw

We have a family movie night every Friday night, and this past Friday we watched Meet the Robinsons, a movie about a young inventor who goes on a time-traveling adventure.  So, Elijah and Zeke decided they would like to become inventors, which led to an exorbitant waste of duck-tape as they experimented with various prototypes. Finally, they came up with the idea for a long straw, one that you could drink from while standing (because really…who likes to sit down while drinking?)…

Let me know if you want one.  Supplies are limited.  We only have enough duck-tape to make a few dozen more.

Cookiemonsteraphobia

Noah has a knack of remembering where things are. I think it’s pretty impressive. And useful…especially in our house where something like a garlic press can end up in our back storage room, or a pencil sharpener on the bathroom floor. I can wonder out loud something like, “Now where in the world did Elijah and Zeke leave the Scoth tape?” and Noah will often run and get it for me.

The other day he found something that I was looking for, and when he presented it to me, I said, “Noah, you are one smart little cookie!”

Noah, though, didn’t like the sound of that. “No, Mummy! Me not a cookie! Me a boy! …Somebody eat me!”

A genuine concern, for sure!
