Phoebe’s First Geography Lesson

This little geography book has been Elijah’s favorite reading material ever since…well, ever since he could read, I guess!  He has a knack of memorizing otherwise useless information, like a country’s primary language, or it’s life expectancy.  I betcha he’s gonna be one of those annoyingly good Trivial Pursuit players.

“Oh look, Phoebe, here’s an interesting fact…the capitol of the country of Luxembourg is Luxembourg!”

Ha ha ha I’m married to one of those annoyingly good Trivial Pursuit players. This is so something I could see Jason doing as a child as well. Makes me wonder if he will do this when we have kids. As someone who isn’t so hot at TP, I appreciate it when he’s on my team and hate it when he’s not :)

Heh, heh, heh…shhhh!! No, but seriously, I’m actually glad you reminded me of that. Elijah’s been trying to cheat at games lately, and I’ve been feeling quite appalled about it. As a parent, I find I have tunnel vision…is that what you’d call it? Like with this cheating thing, I go off, and imagine the worst possible scenario, like he’ll grow up and try to cheat the IRS or something worse. Oh dear… Thanks for bringing some balance to my thinking! I guess turned out all right. I mean, I’d never try to cheat the IRS. ;)

I also love those fact-books. Elijah might be interested in the Geography Challenge at http://www.geographyzone.com I go there some times to help me keep my ’stans straight.

Also, just for fun, my favourite Capital City name is Ouagadougou.
