Feelings…Nothing More Than Feelings

The Scene:  Mom is sitting cross-legged in the middle of the floor watching Dad paint.  (Pink!  Miss Phoebe finally gets to move out of Mom and Dad’s room.  I cleaned out the storage room for her…got rid of a lot of stuff.  I know, “storage room” sounds like we’re sticking her in a little closet, but it’s actually a really big room.)  A little boy, almost three (!) enters, and walks over to Mom.

Little boy:  Me sit in your lap, Mummy.

Mom: Okay.

A few seconds pass.  Little boy lets out a huge sigh, turns slightly, looks up at Mom, touches her cheek, and says,

Me rea(ll)-y happy, Mummy.

Mom’s heart melts.

P.S.  About 20 minutes after I posted this, our sweet and lovable (and might I add, very adept with a computer mouse), almost-three-year-old somehow purchased $50 worth of Family Guy episodes off of iTunes.  Oh dear…
