I just reread my post and wanted to add something to bring clarity as to why abortion and adoption are linked. When we consider the atrocity of abortion and cry out to God to end it, what is often absent from our thinking are the logistics of it. What then will be done with the thousands of babies being born to women who never wanted a baby? What will become of the unwanted mentally and physically handicapped children? The church may say, “We’ll take care of them!” but have we been faithful to take care of the multitude of orphans already entrusted to us? No, sadly we haven’t. Christians need to “step up” and prove that we can indeed care for the unwanted of society. We need to, in a sence, “put our money where are mouth is.” For looking after the poor of the earth will be be costly…and not just finacially.
