Yesterday dawned warm and sunny, so after church we decided a trip to the apple orchard was in order. (and, lucky for you, I, at the last minute, remembered to bring our camera.) We had a good time, but left without a bag of Honey Crisp apples that I had wanted. (Did you know the Honey Crisp apple was “invented” right here at the University of Minnesota?) A three pound bag was $9.95! Can you believe that?! I mean they’re good…but not that good. I settled for a five pound bag of MN1606 for $5.95.
Here are a few pictures from the day…

hey jan how funny is this…picking up groceries on Saturday I told Rob to pick up a bag of apples for our crisp and there were so many he just grabbed a bag. so I pull them out to begin my apple cutting and look at the bag and say…what is a honey crisp…I’ve never heard of such an apple. good for eating yes…not so much baking a wee bit too sweet. but we are happy to know about the honey crisps. they probably aren’t as nice as the Minnisota ones I’m sure but I think they were less than 3$ here :O)
ps…pheobe is a perfect janet and dave mix…its quite something isn’t it? she is so very cute!!!! as are the boys!
So cute Janet. I love that the kids aren’t wearing the traditional red shirts!
Especially miss Pheobe. She looks so good in blue. Oh and I agree with Jill, she is the perfect mix of the two of you.
I’m loving the picture of Pheobe holding on to Elijah’s finger (that’s such a “Horsman” thing to do) and also the one of Zeke. I love his scrunched up nose. Really cute!! And yes, honeycrips are expensive, but aren’t they good!! I love them.
I love seeing the kids…thank you. We did our apple picking last weekend with the Pool. Loads of fun. Don’t think that I’ve ever had or heard of a honey crisp…I will look, though.
