Phoebe drew her first successful face today under Elijah’s tutalage. Elijah was a proud teacher and Phoebe a proud student…and I was a proud mother.

Drawing Lessons For Phoebe
Friday Morning Silliness
(These aren’t just any pom-poms, by the way, these are 100% authentic Vikings cheerleader pom-poms. The lady that coaches the Vikings’ Cheerleaders actually goes to our church.)
Noah didn’t have school this morning and he and Phoebe were in rare form, in search of every possible way to make their two studious siblings laugh. Silly, silly, silly those two are together. I finally had to banish them to Phoebe’s room to restore order to the school room.
P.S. And yes, they are still in their PJs. Phoebe wore hers all day today. Noah got dressed just before supper so that he could run some errands with daddy.
Better Than a Gerbil
The present Zeke bought himself with his birthday money came in the mail this week…
He bought himself a used, but in pretty much perfect condition, iPod Nano. Isn’t that astounding? My eight year old had enough birthday money to buy himself a tiny device that can hold thousands of songs…oh, and movies too (not that he’s allowed to watch said movies whenever he wants, of course). I had some reservations, but really, I was relieved when he switched his focus from begging and pleading to buy a pet gerbil to wanting the Nano. I guess right now in life I’d much rather have a tiny music player than a smelly rodent in my house.
Baby Therapy
Have you ever heard how pets can be thereputic for children? The eager, accepting wag of a dog’s tail or the soft, content purr of a cat… Being able to just love on something that really expects nothing at all from them…
Ellie is Elijah’s pet. So adorable. He can’t even put her down when he’s doing his school work.
“But I just love her so much! I can’t help it. I have to hold her. Look, I can do my work while holding her. See?”
