We are the Horsmans. 2 parents (David and Janet), 3 prophets, and 1 phoebe…

Elijah Russell  ::  Eight-years-old

Elijah, the typical first born, is precocious, gregarious, very intense and a perfectionist.  He taught himself to read when he was four-years-old and has been a voracious reader ever since.  His favorite books are the Magic Tree House books and any non-fiction book about dinosaurs, science or geography.  He is also the CEO of Bed Comics Inc., and has made many Flame Man comics in his top bunk by the glow of his night-light when he was supposed to be sleeping.  He looks forward to Saturday mornings, when he can play GameCube with his Daddy and brother Zeke.

Ezekiel (Zeke) Jonathan ::  Six-years-old

Zeke is pensive, friendly and outgoing and usually very obliging.  He has also, somehow, taken on the role of family sentinel.  When we’re on an outing as a family, he often brings up the rear, making sure that no one gets left behind.  And he must be the last one on and off an elevator.  Very cute.  Zeke loves building with Lego, playing superhero, having chapter books read to him, and has proven himself to be a mathmatical whiz at school this year.  He has - as his kindergarten teacher puts it - “a very advanced and impressive grasp on spacial geometry.”  Interesting.  Zeke also loves playing GameCube on Saturday mornings.

Noah…oh, Noah is our darling!  Sweet, sensitive, soft-spoken and content…usuallyHe is also two-going-on-three, remember, so he can be a little fickle.  His favorite thing to do is run around the house in his birthdy suit, and, well… get into mischief.  He can often be found at the kitchen sink “washing ‘tuff.”  (A.K.A. flooding the counter and floor with water.)  He’s been loving books on CD lately, Frog and Toad Together being one of his favorites.  As the third-born he is pretty laid-back and easy-going, but he also has an entrepreneurial way about him that I love!  He loves his little sister so much and is a great source of entertainment for her.

Phoebe Evelyn  ::  Almost one

Phoebe…our little girl!  (Dave and I still often look at each other and say, in disbelief, “We have a daughter!”)  Phoebe’s name means “light and life” and we believe she will be a source of the Lord’s Light and Life in this world.  It’s going to be entertaining and interesting to watch her grow up with three older brothers.  It’s already pretty evident that she’ll be able to hold her own with them…she’s definitly got some spunk! Right now her favorite thing to do is feed herself finger foods.  Bananas, cheese and green beans are some of her favorites.  She’s on a constant mission to get into the bathroom, and is heartbroken if ever she manages to make it all the way to it’s open door only to have it shut in her face.  All four male family members are pretty smitten with her, and we’re so thankful that she is part of our family.
