*A delicacy in the Horsman home, Macaroni Soup is a combination of macaroni and tomato soup. It’s not unusual for this to be on the lunchtime menu at least 3 times a week.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
I’m not sure if it’s Ellie’s age, or just her mischievous personality, but I’ve never had a baby quite so enamored with a Christmas tree. Or, rather the ornaments on the Christmas tree…
That popcorn that she’s munching on is aged to perfection. Some of it was strung in Canada 10 years ago, and the rest of it was strung our first Christmas here in Minnesota. Wow. Fun memories.
I’m hoping the fact that she pulled the whole tree down on herself this morning will scare her off for a while. But I doubt it.
Old News
I’m sure that for most of my readers this will be very old news, what with facebook and twitter and Dave’s super-duper computer, but Ellie is doing her best to join the world of bipeds. She’s been cautiously wobbling around on her two tiny little feet for the past few weeks and it’s…well, it’s super-duper cute! It’s interesting, too, to observe the different approach that two out of three of my children have taken. Once Zeke, Noah and Phoebe took their first steps, they kissed the crawling stage goodbye forever. Elijah and Ellie, though, have been so similar; both taking their time in honing their walking skills. I’m sure it means something about what kind of adults they will be…although I’m not sure exactly what yet. I’ll let you know when I find out.
Weaned
Miss Ellie is weaned. At long last. She put up quite a fight, unlike any of my other children, but she finally surrendered. This reality makes me both jump for joy and dab at the corners of my eyes. Sure, she may be able to have a drink of milk in her carseat now, and doze off contentedly while doing so, but…but…she’s not my baby any more! *Sniff*

What?! You’re joking? Nope. She is one and loving it.
and this video is from one year ago today.
We love you, Ellie!
Ellie on a Lellow Wall
(Say that ten times fast: Ellie on a lellow wall. He he.)
This yellow wall is one of the new paint colors on two of our living room walls. Can you guess what color is on the other two? I was really tired of our darkish colored walls and wanted a sunshiney color on them. We have a serious deficit in sunshine during the winter months in our apartment and I think I suffer from lack-of-sunshine-wintertime-grumpiness, so I thought a brighter living room might help. Well, it sure is brighter. If you come to visit us, bring sunglasses.
A photo with the other mystery color will be posted tomorrow.
