From Dr. Mom’s Clipboard

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Patient I:  Phoebe

Symptoms:  Runny nose.

Current condition:  Very good.  Runny nose only lasted about a day.

Notes:  The flu shot that the patient recieved in late December seems to have protected her from the illness that has afflicted the rest of her family.  Make sure everyone gets the flu shot next fall!

Patient II:  Noah

Symptoms:  Runny nose, fever, cough, lethargy.

Current condition:  Poor.  We’re on to day three of the fever.

Diagnosis:  Ear infection is suspected, since colds have a history of settling in the patient’s ears.

Notes:  Dr. Mom is ready to admit defeat and make a visit to a real Dr., who will probaly perscribe antibiotis.  :(  Dr. Mom wants to give the patients body the chance to fight off the ear infection on it’s own, but doesn’t want to subject him to undue discomfort.  Sigh  Maybe I should give it one more day?

For Auntie Jill…

Our camera died! :( It won’t turn on at all. Our previous Kodak camera did the very same thing, but had a bit of a longer lifespan. So, this will probably be a photoless blog for the next month or so…untill we get our tax return. (Any suggestions for a new camera?) Untill then, I’m going to try to do more videos, and learn how to edit them…or maybe I’ll just get Dave to edit them. So, prepare to be inundated with videos of my cute kids…consider yourselves warned!

Here is the first one. My sister, Jill, gave Phoebe the little dress she’s wearing in the first part of the video, and requested a photo of her in it. Enjoy…

Phoebe’s First Geography Lesson

Friday, February 8th, 2008

This little geography book has been Elijah’s favorite reading material ever since…well, ever since he could read, I guess!  He has a knack of memorizing otherwise useless information, like a country’s primary language, or it’s life expectancy.  I betcha he’s gonna be one of those annoyingly good Trivial Pursuit players.

“Oh look, Phoebe, here’s an interesting fact…the capitol of the country of Luxembourg is Luxembourg!”

Airborne

I wish I lived in a house with a disproportionately huge sofa and cushions that I could take flying leaps off of, and land on with a soft thud!  Doesn’t this look fun?

Phoebe thought her flying brother was quite entertaining…

Cruise Control

100_5955-custom.jpg

Can you believe this is my baby?  Pulling herself up, and cruising around on the furniture.  Unbelievable.  And let me just say that I think it’s really unfair that my daughter (it still sounds so wierd to say that!) has been my earliest crawler - she was barely six months old.  I thought girls were supposed to be more into the verbal side of things, and slower at those large motor skills.  No such luck for me.

She’s gradually looking more like a girl (I think), although, she still gets mistaken for a boy when she’s in some of her brothers’ clothing.  Normally, I can’t get enough of all the pink, but there are a few outfits that she simply must wear.  Like the fuzzy, cuddly, green outfit she’s wearing above.  It was Elijah’s, and it’s my very favoritest.  So cute.  It’s close to being retired for good, though, as you can see from the picture.  Boo-hoo.

Our Little Human Alarm Clock

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Well, as far a wake-up calls go, you couldn’t get any cuter than this…

That is, of course, if the wake-up call is happening at seven am.  Our cute, little, human alarm clock seems to be malfunctioning these days, going off at such unearthly hours as two am, three am, four am…  It has also developed the skill of pulling itself up to standing, but lacks the skill of getting back down.  How wonderful.  ;)
