I know, I know… It’s about time for an update, right? Well, just pictures for today. Life with five is busy, busy, busy! But I love it.
Time to start school. Composition and helping verbs here I come!
Here’s a little of what’s been happening around here lately…
Our Sweet P Turned two on June 11th. We had a delightful little party out on our front lawn with all of our “campus family” for her special day. Phoebe was so tickled about the whole thing! It was really adorable. Dave made a little video encapsulating the whole day…
(It took my sister in Toronto watching this video for me to realize that Phoebe uses her left hand a lot. I’m tentatively excited! I so want to have a “south paw!”)
Another exciting event: Dave and I celebrated our 11th aniversary on the 12th. We even got to get away overnight thanks to Naomi, who bravely stayed overnight with our kids. Thanks Naomi! The kids have been saying they want to see you again soon.
And here’s a little picture riddle for you to figure out. Friday morning was spent at a table outside playing with some playdough that Phoebe got for her birthday. Can you guess what these two playdough figures, one made by Elijah, the other by Zeke, were all about?
I often am told by people that it’s so cute how Phoebe always has freshly brushed hair…as if one of my top priorities is to always keep her hair brushed! Depending on who it is I either smile and nod or explain that I actually never brush her hair. Like, seriously. Never. In fact, I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I rarely even do anything with her hair. Well…embarrassed probably isn’t the right word, but I do feel kinda silly…’cause I really thought I’d enjoy the whole pigtail factor of having a little girl a lot more than I do. The doing of the pigtails, though, is a procedure not really relished by either Phoebe or me.
Oh well. Maybe when she’s older it will be easier and more enjoyable. Ooorrrr, maybe not.
I’m loving the effect of spending pretty much all day every day in the great outdoors. Phoebe has been doing some serious sleeping lately. Three hour afternoon naps and sleeping in till 9:00…me likey. Here’s a photo of her just waking up yesterday morning. I love how children just naturally greet another day with what I call the Anne of Green Gables motto: “‘Today is a new day with no mistakes in it yet.”
Hope you’re all enjoing spring as much as we are! And remember, today is a new day with no mistakes in it yet. Thank the Lord for that!
Phoebe, enjoying her favorite book, a photobook full of photos of our family. She especially loves the pictures of the “bebe.”
Are you like me? Do you have thousands of digital pictures stored on your computer? We had to get an external hard-drive to store all of ours! And I believe another will soon be in order.
I’m a terrible procrastinator when it comes to developing photos though…sadly. Shutterfly is doing a ‘free shipping’ promotion for the next few days, and I figure a deadline would do me some good, so…to the photo archives I go!
