Without Furthur Ado…

Friday, June 2nd, 2006

I know, I know…you’ve all been sitting on the edge of your seats waiting for this - the premier of “Elijah’s 1st Piano Recital” video clip. I decided to only share his first piece with you. During his second piece, Zeke suddenly realized that he had to use the bathroom (of course!) and kept pulling on my sleeve, so the video is pretty “bumpy” - it might make you a little nauseous. And then during his third piece I decided to try and get some good still-photos instead of video.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. We took the liberty of slowing the last second down for you - we love the look on Elijah’s face, and didn’t want you to miss it!

Our Sidewalk Piano Playing Son

Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

We had a piano donated to us that was black, but for some reason someone painted it beige with speckles. When the little girl next door saw it she said, “Why is this piano made out of a sidewalk?” Why indeed.

Here is a short film “Delete It” that stars Elijah playing that very piano. He has been taking lessons since last fall.

I’ve loved the music that Marty Sampson and Joel Houston have been writing in the last year. They are the leaders of United which is the youth worship band from Hillsong church in Sydney, Australia. On Tuesday night they played at 722 in Atlanta, GA. Click here and enjoy the webstream. It’s pretty cool and pretty raw at the same time.
